Have your child look at your mouth shape as you say the word.  Make sure your child repeats the word. Ask your child how many sounds they hear, what the sounds are, and then have them blend the sounds back into the word. 

This can be done through verbal segmentation or using physical actions like tapping on a table or moving tokens to represent each sound. 

Multisensory Learning: 

Engage multiple senses to reinforce learning. Have your child fingerspell the words on a textured surface or use manipulatives like tokens to represent sounds. This approach caters to different learning styles and helps in better retention of the phonemic structure of words.

Progress Monitoring:
